About Ayres Violins
Established in South Manchester in 1984, Ayres Violins is one of the leading specialist violin shops in the North of England and is well known amongst players from beginner to professional for its excellent craftsmanship and service. Located in Didsbury, our premises include the shop, a music room and a large purpose-built workshop to the rear. All work, from minor repairs, adjustments and bow repairs, to complete restorations and the making of new instruments, is carried out here in the workshop by our skilled and experienced violin-makers – Paul Ayres, Dave Slight and Michael Watson, who bring with them a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Our music room houses an extensive range of violins, violas, cellos and bows. All instruments have been set up to the highest possible standard in the workshop, before being offered for sale.
